Remember to recycle! Common recyclables for picnics are plastic containers and their lids marked with a number 1, 2, 3 or 5, aluminum cans, and juice boxes. In addition, boxes, cartons, newspapers, magazines, and writing paper round out what you can recycle. For more information refer to our websitehttp://www.omaharecycles.com.
Don't recycle fireworks. Please sweep up the litter from fireworks and place in the garbage. We advise that you let this material cool down first so it doesn’t start an accidental fire. Sweeping up fireworks litter also keeps it out of the storm drains that drain into the area creeks and the Missouri River.
Proper disposal of defective or unlit fireworksis through the Omaha Police Department's Fireworks Amnesty collection. Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 9AM until 2PMat these two location: Omaha Fire Station #43, 5505 North 103rd Street or Seymour Smith Park, 72nd and Harrison Streets.
Have a Happy and Safe Independence Day!
